Hadith 14724

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " أَرْجُو أَنْ يَكُونَ مَنْ يَتَّبِعُنِي مِنْ أُمَّتِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ رُبُعَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ " ، قَالَ : فَكَبَّرْنَا ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " أَرْجُو أَنْ يَكُونُوا ثُلُثَ النَّاسِ " ، قَالَ : فَكَبَّرْنَا ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " أَرْجُو أَنْ يَكُونُوا الشَّطْرَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Prophet saying: I hope that on the Day of Resurrection, my followers—my Ummah—will constitute one fourth of all the people of Paradise. At this, we raised the slogan of Takbeer. Then he said: I hope that they will be one third of all the people. At this, we again raised the slogan of Takbeer. Then he said: I hope that they will be one half of all the people.
