Hadith 14723

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ جَابِرًا عَنِ الْجِنَازَةِ ، قَالَ : " قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِجَنَازَةٍ مَرَّتْ وَمَنْ مَعَهُ ، حَتَّى تَوَارَتْ " .
Abu al-Zubair says that he asked Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) about the funeral: so he replied that a funeral passed by near the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so he and the companions stood up and remained standing until it disappeared from sight.
