Hadith 147

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لَا يُقَادُ وَالِدٌ مِنْ وَلَدٍ " . (حديث مرفوع) (حديث موقوف) وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَرِثُ الْمَالَ مَنْ يَرِثُ الْوَلَاءَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Retribution (qisas) will not be taken from a father for his child." And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The heir of wealth will be the one who is the heir of allegiance (wala’)."
