(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنِ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو عَمَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي جَارٌ لِجَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : قَدِمْتُ مِنْ سَفَرٍ ، فَجَاءَنِي جَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، يُسَلِّمُ عَلَيَّ ، فَجَعَلْتُ أُحَدِّثُهُ عَنِ افْتِرَاقِ النَّاسِ ، وَمَا أَحْدَثُوا ، فَجَعَلَ جَابِرٌ يَبْكِي ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " إِنَّ النَّاسَ دَخَلُوا فِي دِينِ اللَّهِ أَفْوَاجًا ، وَسَيَخْرُجُونَ مِنْهُ أَفْوَاجًا " .
A neighbor of Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) says that once I returned from a journey, and Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) came to greet me. I began to tell him how people had fallen into discord among themselves and what innovations they had introduced. Upon hearing this, Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) began to weep, then said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say that people have now entered Allah’s religion in multitudes, and soon, in the same way, they will leave in multitudes.
