Hadith 14680

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، أَخْبَرَنِي جَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَيَأْتِيَنَّ عَلَى الْمَدِينَةِ زَمَانٌ يَنْطَلِقُ النَّاسُ مِنْهَا إِلَى الْآفَاقِ يَلْتَمِسُونَ الرَّخَاءَ ، فَيَجِدُونَ رَخَاءً ، ثُمَّ يَأْتُونَ ، فَيَتَحَمَّلُونَ بِأَهْلِيهِمْ إِلَى الرَّخَاءِ ، وَالْمَدِينَةُ خَيْرٌ لَهُمْ لَوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A time will surely come upon Madinah Munawwarah when people will leave from here towards every corner of Madinah in search of ease. They will find ease and conveniences, and they will return and bring their families into those conveniences as well. However, if they had known, Madinah Munawwarah would still have been better for them."
