It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "A time will come when the inhabitants of Madinah will leave it, even though at that time Madinah will be in a very excellent condition." The Companions asked: "O Messenger of Allah! Then who will inhabit it?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "Wild beasts and birds."
