Hadith 14669

(حديث قدسي) حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " قَالَ رَبُّنَا عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : الصِّيَامُ جُنَّةٌ يَسْتَجِيرُ بِهَا الْعَبْدُ مِنَ النَّارِ ، وَهُوَ لِي وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Our Lord says that fasting is a shield by which a person protects himself from Hell, and fasting is especially for Me, therefore I alone will give its reward.
