(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ رَاشِدِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو أَنْ لَا يَعْجِزَ أُمَّتِي عِنْدَ رَبِّي أَنْ يُؤَخِّرَهُمْ نِصْفَ يَوْمٍ " فَقِيلَ لِسَعْدٍ : وَكَمْ نِصْفُ يَوْمٍ ؟ قَالَ : خَمْسُ مِئَةِ سَنَةٍ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “I hope that my Ummah will not be so helpless before their Lord that Allah Almighty will delay their reckoning for half a day.” Someone asked Sayyiduna Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him): What is meant by half a day? He replied: Five hundred years.
