It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once he asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): O Messenger of Allah! For what purpose is our action? Has the pen written and dried, and has the decree been enforced, or do we make our own destiny? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The pens have written and dried, and the decree has been enforced. Sayyiduna Suraqah asked: Then what is the benefit of action? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Keep doing deeds, for everyone will find it easy to do that for which he was created.
