It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) that once a bowl was brought to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ate the food that was in it. Some of it was left, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “A man from Paradise will come through this corridor who will eat this leftover food.” Sayyiduna Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) says that he had left his brother ‘Umair performing ablution, and he thought in his heart that ‘Umair would come from there. But Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah bin Salam (may Allah be pleased with him) came from there and ate that food.
