Hadith 14524

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا يَعْنِي ابْنَ إِسْحَاقَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الزُّبَيْرِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " إِذَا كَفَّنَ أَحَدُكُمْ أَخَاهُ ، فَلْيُحْسِنْ كَفَنَهُ إِنْ اسْتَطَاعَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: When one of you gives a shroud to his brother, he should shroud him well.
