Hadith 14523

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، يَقُولُ : غَزَوْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تِسْعَ عَشْرَةَ غَزْوَةً ، قَالَ جَابِرٌ لَمْ أَشْهَدْ بَدْرًا وَلَا أُحُدًا ، مَنَعَنِي أَبِي ، قَالَ : فَلَمَّا قُتِلَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ ، لَمْ أَتَخَلَّفْ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي غَزْوَةٍ قَطُّ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him): I had the honor of participating in nineteen battles with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). However, I could not participate in the Battle of Badr and Uhud because my father forbade me, but after the martyrdom of my father in the Battle of Uhud, I never stayed behind from any battle.
