Hadith 14522

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that at the occasion of Hudaybiyyah, the people were afflicted by thirst. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had only one bowl from which he was performing ablution. The people, anxious, came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, "What is the matter?" The people said, "O Messenger of Allah! We have neither water to drink nor to perform ablution except for the water that is before you." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) placed his blessed hand in that bowl, and water began to gush forth from between his fingers like springs. We all drank from it and performed ablution. The narrator asked, "How many were you at that time?" He replied, "If we had been even one hundred thousand, that water would have sufficed us, but at that time we were only fifteen hundred."
