It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the wife of Sayyiduna Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: "Gift your slave to my son and make the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) a witness to it." Bashir then went to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "The daughter of so-and-so (my wife) has requested me to gift my slave to her son and to make you a witness to it." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Does this boy have any brothers?" He replied: "Yes." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Will you give all of them the same as you are giving to him?" He said: "No." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then this is not appropriate, and I cannot be a witness to injustice."
