(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا بُكَيْرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْأَشَجِّ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ حُسَيْنَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَحَّمَنِ يُحَدِّثُ , أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ سَعْدَ بْنَ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ , يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , يَقُولُ : " سَتَكُونُ فِتْنَةٌ الْقَاعِدُ فِيهَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْقَائِمِ ، وَالْقَائِمُ فِيهَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْمَاشِي ، وَيَكُونُ الْمَاشِي فِيهَا خَيْرًا مِنَ السَّاعِي " , قَالَ : وَأُرَاهُ قَالَ : " وَالْمُضْطَجِعُ فِيهَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْقَاعِدِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “A time of tribulations will soon come; in that time, the one who is sitting will be better than the one who is standing, the one who is standing will be better than the one who is walking, and the one who is walking will be better than the one who is running.” And perhaps he also said: “The one who is lying down will be better than the one who is sitting.”
