(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ ، أَمْلَاهُ عَلَيْنَا بِبَغْدَادَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي حُمَيْدٍ ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ , عَنْ جَدِّهِ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ ، قَالَ : قَال رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " مِنْ سَعَادَةِ ابْنِ آدَمَ اسْتِخَارَتُهُ اللَّهَ ، وَمِنْ سَعَادَةِ ابْنِ آدَمَ رِضَاهُ بِمَا قَضَي اللَّهُ ، وَمِنْ شِقْوَةِ ابْنِ آدَمَ تَرْكُهُ اسْتِخَارَةَ اللَّهِ ، وَمِنْ شِقْوَةِ ابْنِ آدَمَ سَخَطُهُ بِمَا قَضَى اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “It is from the good fortune of the son of Adam that he seeks guidance from Allah (Istikhara) in every matter, and is content with His decision. And it is from the misfortune of the son of Adam that he abandons seeking guidance from Allah and expresses displeasure at Allah’s decision.”
