Aamir bin Sa’d says that once his brother Umar went out from Madinah Munawwarah to visit Sayyiduna Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) at his goat farm. When Sayyiduna Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) saw him, he became worried (thinking, may Allah bring good, perhaps he has brought some important news), and said: “I seek Allah’s protection from any bad news this rider may have.” When he came near, he said: “Father! People in Madinah Munawwarah are disputing about the government, and you are absorbed with your goats like villagers?” Sayyiduna Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) struck his chest and said: “Be quiet! I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: ‘Allah loves the servant who is pious, self-sufficient, and keeps himself hidden.’”
