Abu Nadrah says that once we were sitting with Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) when he said: Soon a time will come when no qafiz or dirham will be able to reach the people of Iraq from outside. We asked: How will this happen? He replied: This will be from the side of the non-Arabs; they will withhold these things. Then he said: A time will also come upon the people of Sham when no dinar or mudd will be able to reach them from outside. We asked: From whom will this be? He replied: From the Romans; they will withhold things. Then after a short pause, he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: In the last part of my Ummah, there will come a caliph who will distribute wealth among the people abundantly and will not count it. Jariri says: I asked Abu Nadrah and Abu Al-Ala: In your opinion, is that caliph Umar bin Abdul Aziz (may Allah have mercy on him)? They replied: No.
