Hadith 14402

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا لَيْثٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : جِيءَ بِأَبِي قُحَافَةَ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَكَأَنَّ رَأْسَهُ ثَغَامَةٌ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اذْهَبُوا بِهِ إِلَى بَعْضِ نِسَائِهِ فَلْتُغَيِّرْهُ بِشَيْءٍ ، وَجَنِّبُوهُ السَّوَادَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the occasion of the conquest of Makkah, Qahafah (may Allah be pleased with him) was brought to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and at that time the hair on his head had turned white like the "thaghama" herb. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Take him to a woman from his family and change the color of his hair, but avoid using black color.
