Hadith 14394

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ ، وَابْنُ نُمَيْر ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ النُّعْمَانُ بْنُ قَوْقَلٍ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ حَلَّلْتُ الْحَلَالَ ، وَحَرَّمْتُ الْحَرَامَ ، وَصَلَّيْتُ الْمَكْتُوبَاتِ وَقَالَ ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ فِي حَدِيثِهِ : وَلَمْ أَزِدْ عَلَى ذَلِكَ أَأَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ ؟ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " نَعَمْ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir, may Allah be pleased with him, that Nu'man bin Qawqal came to the service of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and said, "O Messenger of Allah! If I consider the lawful as lawful and the unlawful as unlawful, and perform the obligatory prayers, and do nothing more than this, can I enter Paradise?" The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Yes."
