It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) or Sayyiduna Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would advise us and warn us of Allah’s punishment, its effects would be visible on his blessed face, and it would seem as if he was warning a people whose matter would be decided in the morning. And when there had been a recent meeting with Hazrat Jibreel (peace be upon him), the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would not laugh until the effects of the state of revelation had passed.
