Hadith 14366

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، وَابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : قَالَ ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ فِي حَدِيثِهِ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ قَدْ أَيِسَ أَنْ يَعْبُدَهُ الْمُصَلُّونَ ، وَلَكِنْ فِي التَّحْرِيشِ بَيْنَهُمْ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Satan has despaired of ever being worshipped again by those who pray, but he is determined to sow discord among them."
