Hadith 14361

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ يعني بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ أَحْيَا أَرْضًا مَيْتَةً لَهُ بِهَا أَجْرٌ ، وَمَا أَكَلَتْ مِنْهُ الْعَافِيَةُ فَلَهُ بِهِ أَجْرٌ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever revives barren, deserted land, he will receive its reward, and for every animal that eats from it, he will receive the reward of charity for all of them."
