(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : تُوُفِّيَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَرَامٍ يَعْنِي أَبَاهُ أَوْ اسْتُشْهِدَ وَعَلَيْهِ دَيْنٌ ، فَاسْتَعَنْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى غُرَمَائِهِ أَنْ يَضَعُوا مِنْ دَيْنِهِ شَيْئًا ، فَطَلَبَ إِلَيْهِمْ فَأَبَوْا ، فَقَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اذْهَبْ فَصَنِّفْ تَمْرَكَ أَصْنَافًا الْعَجْوَةَ عَلَى حِدَةٍ ، وَعِذْقَ زَيْدٍ عَلَى حِدَةٍ ، وَأَصْنَافَهُ ، ثُمَّ ابْعَثْ إِلَيَّ " ، قَالَ : فَفَعَلْتُ ، فَجَاءَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَجَلَسَ عَلَى أَعْلَاهُ أَوْ فِي وَسَطِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ : " كِلْ لِلْقَوْمِ " ، قَالَ : فَكِلْتُ لِلْقَوْمِ حَتَّى أَوْفَيْتُهُمْ ، وَبَقِيَ تَمْرِي كَأَنَّهُ لَمْ يَنْقُصْ مِنْهُ شَيْءٌ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that when his father, Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin Haram (may Allah be pleased with him), was martyred, he had some debt. I requested the creditors through the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to forgive the debt, but they refused. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "Go and separate the dates into different types—keep the Ajwah separate, the 'Adhq Zayd separate, and likewise separate the other types as well, then call me." I did so. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came and sat at the top or in the middle, and said to me: "Start measuring and giving to the people." So I started measuring and giving to the people until all the debt was paid off, and my dates remained as they were, as if nothing had been reduced from them.
