Hadith 14356

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ إِدْرِيسَ ، عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : قَدِمَتْ عِيرٌ مَرَّةً الْمَدِينَةَ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْطُبُ ، فَخَرَجَ النَّاسُ وَبَقِيَ اثْنَا عَشَرَ ، فَنَزَلَتْ وَإِذَا رَأَوْا تِجَارَةً أَوْ لَهْوًا انْفَضُّوا إِلَيْهَا سورة الجمعة آية 11 .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once a caravan arrived in Madinah Munawwarah while the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was delivering a sermon. All the people left following the caravan, and only twelve men remained seated in the mosque. Upon this, the following verse was revealed: «وَإِذَا رَأَوْا تِجَارَةً أَوْ لَهْوًا انْفَضُّوا إِلَيْهَا» etc.
