(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ شَيْبَةَ ، سَمِعَ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَبَّادِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ سَأَلْتُ جَابِرًا " أَنَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ صِيَامِ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ ؟ فَقَالَ : نَعَمْ وَرَبِّ هَذَا الْبَيْتِ ، فَقِيلَ لِسُفْيَانَ : وَهُوَ يَطُوفُ بِالْبَيْتِ ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ .
Muhammad bin ‘Abbad once asked Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) about this issue: Did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbid fasting on Friday? He replied: Yes! By the Lord of this house.
