It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Keep your wealth with yourself, do not give it to anyone, and if a person gives something to someone for a lifetime, then it becomes his, whether he remains alive or dies, or it passes on to his children."
