It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked Abu Bakr As-Siddiq when he performed the Witr prayer. He replied: After the Isha prayer, in the first part of the night. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked the same question to Sayyiduna Umar, and he replied: In the last part of the night. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Abu Bakr, you have preferred the aspect in which there is certainty, and Umar has preferred the aspect in which there is strength.
