It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once he came to Sayyidah Aisha and she was crying. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked her the reason for her crying. She said, "I am crying because all the people have come out of ihram and become lawful, but I have not been able to do so yet. People have performed tawaf, but I have not been able to do so yet, and the days of Hajj are upon us." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "This is something that Allah has decreed for all daughters, so you should perform ghusl, put on the ihram for Hajj, and perform Hajj." So she did so. And after her excuse was over, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her, "Perform tawaf of the House of Allah and sa'i between Safa and Marwah. In this way, you will be free from the restrictions of your Hajj and Umrah ihram." She said, "O Messenger of Allah! I will always feel regret in my heart that I did not perform any tawaf until Hajj." Upon this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her brother Abdur Rahman (may Allah be pleased with him), "Take her and let her perform Umrah from Tan'eem."
