Hadith 14317

Amr says that among the scholars, there was once a discussion about whether a person who puts on the Ihram for Umrah and then becomes halal (comes out of Ihram) can do so without performing Sa'i between Safa and Marwah. I asked this question to Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him), and he replied that until he performs Sa'i between Safa and Marwah, he will not become halal. I asked the same question to Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), and he replied that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to Makkah, he performed seven circuits (Tawaf) around the Ka'bah, prayed two rak'ahs behind Maqam Ibrahim, and performed Sa'i between Safa and Marwah. Then he said: "Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah you have a good example."
