Hadith 14302

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ جَابِرٍ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " مَنْ صَامَ رَمَضَانَ وَسِتًّا مِنْ شَوَّالٍ ، فَكَأَنَّمَا صَامَ السَّنَةَ كُلَّهَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Whoever fasts the month of Ramadan and then follows it with six days of fasting in Shawwal, it is as if he has fasted for the whole year.
