Hadith 14298

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرًا ، يَقُولُ : مَرِضْتُ ، فَأَتَانِي النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَعُودُنِي هُوَ وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ مَاشِيَيْنِ ، وَقَدْ أُغْمِيَ عَلَيَّ فَلَمْ أُكَلِّمْهُ فَتَوَضَّأَ فَصَبَّهُ عَلَيَّ ، فَأَفَقْتُ ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، كَيْفَ أَصْنَعُ فِي مَالِي ، وَلِي أَخَوَاتٌ ؟ قَالَ : فَنَزَلَتْ آيَةُ الْمِيرَاثِ يَسْتَفْتُونَكَ قُلِ اللَّهُ يُفْتِيكُمْ فِي الْكَلالَةِ إِنِ امْرُؤٌ هَلَكَ لَيْسَ لَهُ وَلَدٌ وَلَهُ أُخْتٌ سورة النساء آية 176 .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) came to me while I was so ill that I was even unaware of my senses. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ablution and poured that water over me. I regained consciousness and said, "Among my heirs, there is no one except my sisters. How will the inheritance be distributed?" Upon this, the verse regarding the distribution of inheritance was revealed.
