Hadith 14293

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : رَأَيْتُ كَأَنَّ عُنُقِي ضُرِبَتْ ! قَالَ : " لِمَ يُحَدِّثُ أَحَدُكُمْ بِلَعِبِ الشَّيْطَانِ ؟ ! .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "I felt as if my neck had been cut off." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Why do you mention the tricks of Satan—'which he plays with you'—in front of others?"
