Hadith 1428

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ جَامِعِ بْنِ شَدَّادٍ ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ , قَالَ : قُلْتُ لِأَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ بْنِ الْعَوَّامِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : مَا لَكَ لَا تُحَدِّثُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ قَالَ : مَا فَارَقْتُهُ مُنْذُ أَسْلَمْتُ ، وَلَكِنِّي سَمِعْتُ مِنْهُ كَلِمَةً ، سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ : " مَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَيَّ ، فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zubair (may Allah be pleased with them both) says that I asked my father, Sayyiduna Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him), "Why do you not narrate the hadiths of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)?" He replied, "Since I accepted Islam, I have never been separated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), but I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'Whoever deliberately attributes a false statement to me, he should make his abode in the Hellfire.'" (That is why I am afraid.)
