Hadith 14269

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " مَنْ كَانَتْ لَهُ أَرْضٌ فَلْيَزْرَعْهَا ، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَسْتَطِعْ أَنْ يَزْرَعَهَا ، أَوْ عَجَزَ عَنْهَا ، فَلْيَمْنَحْهَا أَخَاهُ الْمُسْلِمَ وَلَا يُؤَاجِرْهَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever has land, he should cultivate it himself; if he cannot do so or is unable, then he should give it as a gift to his brother, but he should not rent it out."
