Hadith 14268

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : " كُنَّا نَتَمَتَّعُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَبِي بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ ، حَتَّى نَهَانَا عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَخِيرًا يَعْنِي النِّسَاءَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that we used to practice Mut'ah with women during the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and Abu Bakr and Umar (may Allah be pleased with them), until later Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) forbade it.
