Hadith 14259

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سُئِلَ عَنِ الْغُسْلِ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَمَّا أَنَا ، فَأُفْرِغُ عَلَى رَأْسِي ثَلَاثًا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once a person asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about the ritual bath (ghusl) after major impurity. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "I pour water over my head three times."
