Hadith 14258

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Suraqah bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) came and said, "O Messenger of Allah! For what purpose is action? Have the pens written it and dried, and has the decree been enforced, or do we make our own destiny?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The pens have written it and dried, and the decree has been enforced." He asked, "Then what is the benefit of action?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Keep doing deeds, for everyone will find it easy to do that for which he was created."
