Hadith 14253

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْجَارُ أَحَقُّ بِشُفْعَةِ جَارِهِ ، يَنْتَظِرُ بِهَا ، وَإِنْ كَانَ غَائِبًا ، إِذَا كَانَ طَرِيقُهُمَا وَاحِدًا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A neighbor has more right to pre-emption over the house of his neighbor. If he is absent, he should be waited for, as long as their path is one."
