Hadith 14242

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَطَاءٌ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ كَانَتْ لَهُ أَرْضٌ فَلْيَزْرَعْهَا ، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَسْتَطِعْ ، أَوْ عَجَزَ عَنْهَا ، فَلْيَمْنَحْهَا أَخَاهُ وَلَا يُؤَاجِرْهَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever has land should cultivate it himself, and if he cannot do so or is unable, then he should give it as a gift to his brother, but he should not rent it out."
