Hadith 14233

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : سُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَيُّ الْجِهَادِ أَفْضَلُ ؟ قَالَ : " مَنْ عُقِرَ جَوَادُهُ ، وَأُهْرِيقَ دَمُهُ " ، قَالَ : وَسُئِلَ أَيُّ الصَّلَاةِ أَفْضَلُ ؟ قَالَ : " طُولُ الْقُنُوتِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that some people asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Which is the most virtuous jihad?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "That of the person whose horse's legs are cut and his own blood is shed." And someone asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Which prayer is the most virtuous?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The long prayer."
