Hadith 14232

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ مُحَارِبٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَطْرُقَ الرَّجُلُ أَهْلَهُ لَيْلًا أَنْ يُخَوِّنَهُمْ ، أَوْ يَلْتَمِسَ عَثَرَاتِهِمْ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade (a traveler) from returning home at night without prior notice, lest a person deceive them or search for their faults.
