Hadith 14210

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَيُّ الْجِهَادِ أَفْضَلُ ؟ قَالَ : " مَنْ عُقِرَ جَوَادُهُ ، وَأُهْرِيقَ دَمُهُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that some people asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Which is the best jihad?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "That of the person whose horse's legs are cut and his own blood is shed."
