Hadith 14181

حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَصْحَابِ الشَّجَرَةِ ، قَالَ : فَقَالَ : " لَوْ كُنَّا مِئَةَ أَلْفٍ لَكَفَانَا ، كُنَّا أَلْفًا وَخَمْسَ مِائَةٍ "
Salim bin Abi Al-Ja'd says that I asked Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) about the number of participants in the Bay'at al-Ridwan, so he replied: "Even if we had been one hundred thousand in number, that water would have sufficed us. Our number was only one and a half thousand."
