It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that during the blessed era of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), a man freed his slave by saying (and he had no other wealth of any kind) that "after my death, you are free." When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) learned of his situation, he said, "Who will buy this slave from me?" Na'eem bin Abdullah said, "I will buy him." So he bought him; that slave was a Copt and he died in the very first year.
