Hadith 14080

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ : أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " نَهَى عَنِ الْوِصَالِ ، قَالَ : قِيلَ لَهُ : إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ ، قَالَ : إِنِّي أَبِيتُ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not observe continuous fasting for several days with only one pre-dawn meal (suhoor). Someone asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! You do it this way?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: I am not like you in this matter; my Lord gives me food and drink.
