(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ السُّلَمِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : " صَلَّيْتُ خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَخَلْفَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، وَعُمَرَ ، وَعُثْمَانَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُمْ ، فَلَمْ يَكُونُوا يَسْتَفْتِحُونَ الْقِرَاءَةَ بِ : بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ سورة الفاتحة آية 1 " ، قَالَ شُعْبَةُ : فَقُلْتُ لِقَتَادَةَ : أَسَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ أَنَسٍ ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، نَحْنُ سَأَلْنَاهُ عَنْهُ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that I have offered prayer with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and with the three Caliphs; these personalities would not begin their recitation with "Bismillah."
