Hadith 13893

(حديث موقوف) حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ قَتَادَةُ : سَأَلْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ : " بِأَيِّ شَيْءٍ كَانَ يَسْتَفْتِحُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْقِرَاءَةَ ؟ قَالَ : إِنَّكَ لَتَسْأَلُنِي عَنْ شَيْءٍ مَا سَأَلَنِي عَنْهُ أَحَدٌ " .
Qatadah (may Allah have mercy on him) says: I asked Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), "With what did the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) begin the recitation in prayer?" He replied, "You have asked me a question that no one has asked me until now."
