Hadith 13890

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ : أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَبَا بَكْرٍ ، وَعُمَرَ ، وَعُثْمَانَ كَانُوا " يَسْتَفْتِحُونَ الْقِرَاءَةَ بِ : الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ سورة الفاتحة آية 2 " . حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، مِثْلَهُ ، إِلَّا أَنَّهُ شَكَّ فِي عُثْمَانَ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that I have performed prayer with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and the three Caliphs; these noble persons would begin the recitation in prayer with "Alhamdulillahi Rabbil 'Alamin."
