Hadith 13889

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ . وَحَجَّاجٌ ، حَدَّثَنِي شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ قَتَادَةَ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا كَانَ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي الصَّلَاةِ ، فَإِنَّهُ يُنَاجِي رَبَّهُ ، فَلَا يَبْزُقَنَّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ : فَلَا يَبْصُقَنَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ ، وَلَا عَنْ يَمِينِهِ ، وَلَكِنْ عَنْ شِمَالِهِ تَحْتَ قَدَمِهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you is praying, he is conversing with his Lord, so in this state none of you should spit to his right side, rather he should spit to his left side or under his foot.
